T-Shirt Quilt Workshop
Do you have a collection of t-shirts that you want to make into a quilt, but you just don’t know where to start? Join us for this four-week course to learn how to put one together. By the end of the 4 weeks you could have your very own quilt top made up of your favorite shirts. A t-shirt quilt makes a great gift for birthdays, graduations, and as memory quilts!

Please note: Strong machine sewing skills are a must!

Class One - We’ll discuss how many shirts to use, how to prep and cut them for piecing. We’ll talk sashing, borders, and how to finish your quilt. Then we’ll begin prepping the shirts. If you are new to quilting, we can discuss accurate cutting and seam allowance.

Class Two - We’ll be fusing the interfacing to the shirts and trimming them to size. (If you finish this, you may begin sewing.)

Class Three - We’ll be sewing our blocks together.

Class Four - We’ll be finishing up the quilt top and discuss different ways to finish the quilt.

Materials and Supplies Needed:
  • Rotary Cutter
  • Cutting Mat (18x36)
  • Quilting Ruler - You can use a long acrylic ruler (24” x 4”,5”,6”), a square that’s the size you’d like for your shirts to be, or a specialty t-shirt square ruler. 
  • 10-15 yards of lightweight fusible interfacing. Pellon SF101 is a good one.  You don’t want stiff interfacing. 
  • 12-15 of your favorite t-shirts.

Course Schedule:
Runs four Mondays 6:30-8:30pm
January 27th, Feb 3rd, 10th and 24th 
(no class President’s Day)
